GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – Why was a Brown County lawyer paid tens of thousands of dollars after resigning from her position earlier this year?
That was a heated topic at Wednesday night’s county board meeting in downtown Green Bay.
Former Corporation Counsel Juliana Ruenzel was paid almost $61,000 in a settlement but county supervisors were not informed of that decision.
Brown County Supervisor Pat Evans was in the closed door session.
“We are not allowed to say anything about what happened in the closed door meeting but I will tell you there are other people involved.”
Evans says he’s not happy that Executive Troy Streckenbach failed to inform members of the board about Ruenzel.
“The county executive, you know, sitting up in his ivory tower and controlling everything that is going on without any input from the legislative body.”
Although Evans couldn’t say much, he did confirm that Ruenzel’s resignation had no relation to issues surrounding the Shirley Wind Farm project.
