MANITOWOC, WI (WTAQ) – One of the two suspects accused of being involved with a Manitowoc murder in February appeared in court Monday.
22-year-old Quinn Smith waived extradition from Minnesota last week and was taken to the Manitowoc County Jail.
In court, Smith was ordered to be held on a $500,000 cash bond. He returns to court next week.
Police Captain Larry Zimney says this case may take a while to solve.
“It is frustrating. Obviously we would like to connect the dots here and find out the relationships between our suspects and the victim and anybody else that could possibly be involved with this.”
He says they still don’t know the motive behind the murder.
Smith is one of two men suspected in the Feb. 5 murder of Yang. Police have said the 52-year-old Yang was fatally shot when he answered a knock at the door of his home in the 2200 block of S. 9th Street.
Smith, of St. Paul, Minnesota, was arrested last week by authorities in Minnesota. A second suspect, 25-year-old Joe Vang, is also being sought.
Anyone with information about the shooting or Vang’s whereabouts is asked to call Manitowoc police at (920) 686-6500 or Crime Stoppers at (920) 683-4466.
