OSHKOSH, WI (WTAQ) – A man has pled guilty to two charges for swapping nude photos with teenage girls on social media.
21-year-old Bret Culver was convicted Monday of child sexual exploitation and making threats of injury. Culver will be sentenced on July 21.
As part of a plea deal, 6 counts were dismissed. One of the counts, causing a teen to view sexual activity, was also dropped but can be considered at sentencing.
Authorities say Culver went by the name “David James” on Facebook, and chatted with more than 60 girls and women. Three victims were 17-year-old girls, two of whom were from Oshkosh.
Culver allegedly sent photos of his genitals to 3 teen girls, and in return got them to send nude photos.
Police say Culver threatened one of the girls, saying he’d post their conversation publicly if she didn’t send him more pictures. He also offered to pay one of the girls for sex, but they didn’t meet.
