MANITOWOC, WI (WTAQ) – Police in Manitowoc say they’ve made one arrest in a homicide that took place earlier this year.
But one more suspect remains on the loose in connection with the murder of 52-year-old Kor Yang.
The Manitowoc Police Department has scheduled a 2:30 p.m. press conference Tuesday to talk more about their investigation.
Yang was gunned down around 5:30 a.m. back on February 5th at 2225 S. 9th Street.
Police say 22-year-old Quinn Orn Smith was arrested Monday in St. Paul, Minnesota. Smith has been charged with first-degree intentional homicide, party to the crime and use of a dangerous weapon.
Manitowoc Police Captain Larry Zimney says DNA helped connect the suspects to the crime.
“A DNA databank hit linked both Quinn Smith and Joe Vang to DNA swabbings of the handgun.”
The suspect still at large is 25-year-old Joe Vang, who is believed to live in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area. Vang has several warrants out for his arrest, including unrelated charges in Minnesota.
Both Quin and Vang are connected to the same gang, the Asian Crips, out of the St. Paul area.
