GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – It’s a sure sign that summer is on the way.
Bay Beach Amusement Park is set to open for the 2016 season on Saturday.
Special Facilities Manager Jason Arnoldi says they will be debuting two new rides on opening day.
“One is the Rockin’ Tug which is a tug boat that brings passengers on a half-pipe and spins them around a little bit and the other is the Bay Beast which is a tower jumping ride essentially, which brings you up about 40 feet in the air and then drops you a little bit and takes you back up and drops you a little bit more.”
Other rides that are still fan favorites are the Zippin Pippin and Giant Slide.
Park hours are limited in May but will be much broader once summer officially starts.
“In May, these first few weekends, we are open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday’s and Sunday’s. Towards the end of May, we are open for school groups from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Then beginning the Friday of Memorial Day weekend we are open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. for Memorial Day weekend, says Arnoldi.”
