UNDATED (Wisconsin Radio Network-WSAU) Reports of long lines at some Wisconsin polling places Tuesday have at least one group calling for action to prevent a repeat of the situation in the future. Andrea Kaminski with the League of Women Voters says some of the longest lines were on college campuses, where students were trying to register or comply with the state’s voter I-D requirement. Most college-issued student IDs do not meet the requirements of the state’s voter I-D law.Kaminski believes there’s still a lot of confusion about the law, and the state should take action to make sure it’s cleared up before the next election. The Government Accountability Board funds voter education out of its normal budget, and says it has no additional money for advertising its voter I-D campaign.Andrea Kaminski despite being passed into law almost five years ago, there’s still a lot of confusion surrounding Wisconsin’s voter I-D law. She says the state should take steps to help resolve those issues, before future elections take place.
