APPLETON, WI (WTAQ) – An Outagamie County judge has dismissed an attempt by an animal rights’ group to prosecute a church over their “pig rassle” fundraiser.
The group Global Conservation filed a motion in court looking “to permit the filing of a complaint against the Defendants, all affiliated with St. Patrick’s Catholic Parish-Stephensville.”
Global Conservation claims that the August 10, 2014 event violated state laws on animal cruelty. It also says that Outagamie County District Attorney Carrie Schneider has declined to pursue the case.
However, Judge Mark McGinnis denied the group’s legal maneuvering in an order signed Wednesday.
