GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – A Green Bay sex offender is facing a dozen charges after repeatedly harassing and assaulting an ex-girlfriend dating back to 2014.
25-year-old Barry L. Watters Jr. is charged with several felonies, including strangulation and suffocation, bail jumping and misdemeanors for battery and criminal damage to property.
All counts have repeater enhancers.
According to the criminal complaint, the first incident occurred on September 23, 2014.
Then on October 18, 2015, Green Bay police officers were called to speak with the same victim over two separate incidents of domestic violence that took place that day and back on June 22.
Watters’ criminal history goes back to when he pled no contest on June 21, 2007, to first-degree sexual assault of a child.
He’s currently listed as compliant on the Wisconsin Department of Corrections Sex Offender Registry.
Barry Watters is due back in Brown County court on Wednesday for a status conference.If convicted on all charges, Watters faces over 25 years in prison.
