DOOR COUNTY, WI (WTAQ) – A woman sightseeing at Whitefish Dunes State Park in Door County had to be rescued after falling off a cliff Saturday.
Authorities say the unidentified woman fell down 10 to 15 feet onto the rocks below.
The Sturgeon Bay Fire Department sent a team to rescue the woman while she lay on the rocks. Officials say the woman was conscious the entire time.
The woman had a laceration on her head and was taken to a hospital.
Fire department officials say they get about 3 to 4 calls a month for falls in the area where the woman was rescued. The park is a popular spot for people to take pictures.
