RIPON, WI (WTAQ) – The state fire marshal is helping Ripon authorities investigate a downtown fire in which a 32-year-old man died.
Police say Stephen Dahlke was found unresponsive after smoke emerged from a seven-unit building Saturday afternoon on Ripon’s main street. He died later at a Ripon hospital.
Officials say the fire damage was contained to Dahlke’s apartment, while other parts of the structure had smoke and water damage — and the victim was the only person living in his unit.
