Oshkosh, WI (WTAQ) – One fishing club is pulling its vehicle bridges from Lake Winnebago because of forecast warm temperatures.
The Oshkosh-based Otter Street Fishing Club says it will keep its ATV bridges on the ice for this weekend’s Battle on Bago ice fishing tournament, but bridges for cars and trucks will be pulled at 4 p.m. Thursday.
Meteorologists are predicting high temperatures in the 40s on Saturday and Sunday.
The club says the ATV bridges will be placed straight out from Waugoo Street and Merritt Avenue.
The bridges help vehicles cross cracks in the ice.
Experts warn the ice should never be considered to be 100 percent safe.
