PORTAGE, WI (WTAQ) – A southern Wisconsin man claims he does not remember shooting his estranged wife to death at a hotel in Portage.
That’s according to the state’s complaint against 51-year-old Kevin Krueger of Friesland — who made his first court appearance Thursday on three felony counts that include homicide.
Columbia County authorities say Krueger stole a shotgun from a friend and used it to kill 41-year-old Tracy Krueger on Monday at the Ridge Motor Inn in Portage.
Her father, Randolph Hill, tells WKOW-TV in Madison that his daughter suffered years of abuse — and the criminal hearing came on the same day the couple was scheduled to see a judge about a divorce for which Tracy filed last October.
A judge ordered Kevin Krueger to remain in jail under a $1 million bond, and the next hearing is set for April 21st.
