STURGEON BAY, WI (WTAQ) – Sturgeon Bay police are reminding people to be skeptical if a salesperson knocks on your door.
Police say they got a call from an elderly woman Thursday who said a salesman came to her home trying to sell her a bed worth several thousand dollars.
When the woman refused to give the salesman her information, he wouldn’t leave and became persistent.
Only when the woman told the salesman that the police were on the way did he leave.
A few weeks before that, the woman told police she got a call from a company called “Easy Rest” telling her she won a bed.
The Sturgeon Bay P.D. says if you are approached by a suspicious salesperson at your home, you should get the vehicle description, license plate number and any other information to give to authorities.
