MOSINEE, Wis (WSAU-WAOW) The southbound lanes on I-39 in Mosinee were reopened early this morning after a crash from a high speed chase.
Sheriffs deputies and the State Patrol forced a pick-up truck off the road at mile marker 182. For a time the suspect, identified as a Pulaski man, refused to leave the vehicle, but officers were able to talk him into surrendering.
No further information about the suspect has been made public. Police aren’t saying what led to the chase which started in Shawano County.
The suspect tried to outrun law enforcement on Highway 29 westbound and then onto I-39 south into Marathon County. The incident began around 1am and the interstate was blocked for more than an hour with nearly a dozen squad cars on-scene.
