GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – 20 of the top brewpubs in the nation are battling it out online to see who the best is.
One of them is Titletown Brewing Company.
“Just to be mentioned in the same breath as some of the nationally recognized brewpubs and craft breweries is pretty special,” says Titletown Brewing COO Jim Kratowicz. “Given the fact that we won some national awards last fall amongst our peers at the Great American Beer Fest, nationally we won Brewpub of the Year, so maybe that’s what put us on the radar.”
The online voting contest is being conducted by USA Today and 10Best.
Kratowicz says a win would be great for Titletown and the city of Green Bay.
“After you get national recognition like this, and people do come into town, they will look us up,” Kratowicz said. “Even for the state of Wisconsin, those folks who are traveling from around the state that are now exposed to our brand, as we push out more beer but when they read about it in the USA Today, they’ll probably come check us out.”
So what’s the secret to creating a powerful, effective brand in such an increasingly competitive market?
“It’s a legendary place, a lot of history, but it’s also great food, great service and we’ve won awards for our beers,” said Kratowicz. “We have gold medal winners, silver medal, bronze winners, and then its customer service too. We call it the ‘Cheers Factor’, when you come here you’re gonna feel like people have known you for a long time like you’re one of the neighbors.”
Voting ends February 29th at noon Eastern Time.
