Left tackle David Bakhtiari and safety Micah Hyde are entering the final year of their original four year rookie contracts and both have earned their way to a hefty pay raise. The players earned $585,000.00 in salary last year and were scheduled to make approximately $660,000.00 this year. But because both players have participated in more than 35% of the snaps on their respective sides of the ball, an escalator clause that’s now a part of all rookie deals, will kick in this off-season. Both Bakhtiari and Hyde now are in line for 2016 salaries at just under 1.7 million dollars each.
