GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – There was no Hail Mary part two for the Green Bay Packers, as a 38-yard pass with time expiring fell incomplete giving the Minnesota Vikings a 20-13 win and the NFC North Division championship.
A lackluster first half for the Packers offensively turned into a furious push to steal Sunday’s game late as quarterback Aaron Rodgers finished 28-of-44 for 291 yards with 1 touchdown and 1 costly interception.
That turnover came with 2:18 left in the game and a 4th-and-goal when Rodgers throw towards wide receiver James Jones was picked off in the end zone by Vikings cornerback Xavier Rhodes.
Jones caught 4 passes for 102 yards, while tight end Richard Rodgers caught 7 balls for 59 yards and the TD.
The NFL’s rushing leader, Vikings back Adrian Peterson, ran for 67 yards and a touchdown on 19 carries. Vikings corner Captain Munnerlyn returned an Aaron Rodgers fumble 55 yards for a TD.
With the loss, the Packers (10-6) will travel to Washington to face the NFC East Division Champion Redskins next Sunday.
The Vikings (11-5) will host the Seattle Seahawks next Sunday.
