ASHWAUBENON, WI (WTAQ) – An underage drinking party gets a large police response to a house on S. Ridge Road in Ashwaubenon.
Police responded just after midnight Saturday, where officers say over 50 people were at the party when they arrived.
“We had a person flee with a weapon and then we had reports of another possible weapon inside,” Ashwaubenon Public Safety Lt. Brian Amenson told FOX 11.
As a precaution additional officers were called to the scene.
“That is our major concern, we don’t want anything to happen to any of these kids,” Amenson said.
More than 20 squad cars responded including an armored vehicle. The added vehicles police say were needed to potentially transport individuals to the jail for processing.
Amenson said once police entered the home, they didn’t find anything to suspect more than an underage drinking party.
“With every underage drinking party there is always, usually, some drugs that follow. But it wasn’t really anything out of the ordinary for a typical underage drinking party,”he said.
Eight people were cited for underage drinking. Two people had outstanding warrants and were taken into custody. Another person was arrested for violating probation.
Amenson said the person who is renting the home was not there at the time of the party. He says it’s a reminder to parents that they can be held responsible for their child’s underage parties.
The Green Bay Police Department, De Pere Police Department and Brown County Sheriff’s Department assisted Ashwaubenon Public Safety with this incident.
The investigation is still ongoing.
