UNDATED (WTAQ) – Are you looking to track Santa Claus as he delivers gifts to good little girls and boys in Wisconsin tonight?
The Wisconsin National Guard is ready to welcome St. Nick to the Badger State.
“We have plenty of experience helping Santa in Wisconsin,” Maj. Gen. Don Dunbar, Wisconsin’s adjutant general, said in a news release. “We also have a lot in common. Santa – like the National Guard – is always ready and always there. It’s an honor to help him complete his mission in Wisconsin.”
According to the National Guard, a KC-135 Stratotanker from the Wisconsin Air National Guard’s 128th Air Refueling Wing in Milwaukee will meet up with Santa as he passes over Lake Superior, providing carrots and water for the reindeer, along with hot chocolate and energy bars for Santa.
The Wisconsin Air National Guard’s 128th Air Control Squadron, based at Volk Field, will keep other air traffic out of Santa’s way while in Wisconsin.
Wisconsin’s Emergency Management department is also helping out, by providing weather reports and snow and ice conditions on rooftops.
Starting at 9 p.m., those in Wisconsin can track Santa’s journey by following ReadyWisconsin on Twitter and Facebook. To track Santa worldwide, visit NORAD’s Santa Tracker.
