SHAWANO, WI (WTAQ) – Investigation into a report of “shotgun blasts” at a Shawano home early Monday turned out to be nothing more than fireworks.
That’s according to Police Lt. Dan Mauel regarding the standoff in the 600 block of Leig Avenue that began around 12:30 a.m.
“Officers eventually got permission took two males into custody and a 13-year-old female was fine,” says Mauel. “The investigation determined that it was, in fact, fireworks and that the two males set them off to get the response they did from police.”
The males, ages 18 and 19, are facing charges of disorderly conduct and obstructing officers. Mauel expects those charges will be forwarded to the district attorney’s office Tuesday.
Police say the 19-year-old man and the 13-year-old girl both live at the house; the 18-year-old man does not.
