GREEN BAY, Wis (WSAU-Wheeler News) Most people don’t shoot one deer in their first hunting experience, much less two. But ten-year-old Kyler Verbeten managed to kill two deer with one shot last Sunday, when he hunted for the first time with his father from the Green Bay area. His father Matt tells WBAY TV they saw a larger doe and a smaller one together — and he told his son to “shoot the big doe” first. Kyler missed the animals with his first shot, but his father said to try again — and both fell over.
Kyler says he was watching a squirrel jump around before the deer emerged. His father says they each used their tags to register the animals.
Wisconsin’s nine-day gun deer season continues through Sunday.
