MANITOWOC, WI (WTAQ) – Two men were arrested overnight in Manitowoc who police say were behind a number of vehicle break-ins.
Police say they were called to the Marathon Service Station, 1807 Washington Street, around midnight. An employee reported that 2 men were trying to use a woman’s credit card, and the employee thought the card might be stolen.
The men refused to provide identification to the employee and then drove off. Officers tracked the pair down in the area of Calumet Avenue and S. 30th Street.
Police say they found a variety of stolen items after the men were pulled over. Both were arrested.
Investigation led police to believe the men broke into several vehicles, including at least one parked inside an open garage.
The men, one in his mid-30s and the other in his mid-20s, were jailed on suspicion of burglary, receiving stolen property, theft by fraud, drug possession and obstructing officers. Both are from Manitowoc.
