(WNFL) – Eddie Lacy is no longer the top running back in Green Bay. That distinction, at least for now, belongs to James Starks, who has out-performed Lacy and has taken over the top spot in the rotation entering Sunday’s home game against Detroit. Coach Mike McCarthy said Starks has played very well and has earned the opportunity. But he also said he isn’t a big believer in just riding one running back the whole season and he’ll stay with the 1-2 punch. Lacy has been the Packers workhorse the last two seasons, surpassing 1,100-yards. This season, Lacy has totaled just 308 yards through the first eight games. Lacy left Sunday’s game at Carolina after rushing just five times for ten yards with a fumble.
