GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – Green Bay residents could hear loud noises once again from a downtown paper mill on Wednesday.
Officials with Georgia-Pacific say due to further prep work that has to be done, the company now must perform “steam blows” for its new natural gas boiler on Wednesday.
Three of the blows are expected, with the first one happening around 10 a.m.
Georgia-Pacific says the must perform the steam blows to clean pipes of any debris before the boiler can be used.
Officials says once the new boiler is fully operational, it will replace their coal-fired boiler and slash air emissions by about 80 percent.
