GRAND CHUTE, WI (WTAQ) – A detached garage is destroyed and the home next to it heavily damaged following a fire early Monday in Grand Chute.
Fire crews were called to the home in the 4100 block of W. Pine Street just after 4:10 a.m.
Upon arrival, crews found heavy fire in the detached garage with the flames reaching the house. Firefighters searched the house as they attacked the fire; they confirmed no one was in the building.
Crews learned that utility service to the home was cut off.
Police and firefighters are trying to figure out how the fire started.
“At this time all I can say is the cause of the fire is under investigation,” said Grand Chute Fire Division Chief Matt Casriel, who wouldn’t term the fire as “suspicious”.
