STURGEON BAY, WI (WTAQ) – The man convicted of killing a woman in Door County back in 2012 has been granted a hearing on his efforts to get a new trial.
Brian Cooper was given a life prison term without a chance at parole for the murder of Alisha Bromfield.
Online court records indicate Cooper was granted a “Machner hearing”. That’s a motion where the defendant claims he received ineffective legal counsel at trial.
Cooper’s hearing is scheduled for October 28.
