APPLETON, WI (WTAQ) – After making comparisons with the pay checks for mayors in Brookfield, Green Bay, La Crosse, Manitowoc and Wausau, one member of Appleton’s Board of Aldermen decided it was time for a pay cut.
A City Council committee has agreed, voting last week to cut the mayor’s salary by $10,000, to $84,250 after the next election.
A full council vote could be taken October 7th.
Mayor Tim Hanna says the move sends the message to people living in Appleton that the City Council doesn’t see value in the position of mayor.
