The Green Bay Gamblers begin their 22nd season in the United States Hockey League when they welcome the Bloomington Thunder to the Resch Center Saturday night at 7:05 PM. Pat Mikesch returns to coach the Tier 1 Junior Hockey club. The Gamblers struggled to an 18-34-8 record last season, ending a run of six straight post season appearances. The team made several mid-season trades last year and bring back 11 veterans to the squad. Three local players are also on the roster, Adam Parsells of Wausau, Matt Berkovitz of Ashwaubenon and this year’s top draft pick, Brett Gruber of Appleton. Gruber was part of a championship team with the Victoria, British Columbia Grizzlies last season.
