GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – Funeral arrangements have been announced for late Wisconsin Supreme Court Justice N. Patrick Crooks.
The 77-year-old Crooks died Monday inside his office at the State Capitol.
Visitation will be held on Friday from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 340 S. Monroe Ave. in Green Bay.
Visitation will continue Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the funeral at 10:15 a.m. at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 130 St. Matthews Street in Allouez. The service will be officiated by Bishop Robert Morneau.
“Never before have the words “the world lost a good man” resonated so loudly. Justice N. Patrick Crooks (“Pat”) was not just a good man who touched the lives of those who knew him with his smile, his kindness, his intelligence and his charm– he was a good man who also touched the lives of countless people whom he never even met through his decisions and volunteerism. He embodied peace, truth and integrity in his personal and professional lives, embracing his deep faith every day,” says the obituary.
Crooks was a Brown County judge from 1977-96, when he was elected to the state Supreme Court. Last week, he announced he would not be running for a third term. Crooks is survived by his wife, Kris, and six children.
