MILWAUKEE (WTAQ) – Rookie pitcher Taylor Jungmann bounced back from the worst outing of the brief major league career, blanking Cincinnati for six innings in a 5-0 victory.
Jungmann held the Reds to 3 hits and 3 walks, moving his Milwaukee Brewers team one half-game ahead of the Reds in the struggle to avoid last place.
Cincinnati has lost 13 times in its last 14 games.
Another rookie, Domingo Santana, hit his 5th home run. Adam Lind drove in two runs with a double.
Rookie Raisel Iglesias only allowed 4 hits in his 7 innings of work, but he absorbed the loss. The Reds haven’t scored in 19 innings.
Milwaukee goes with Matt Garza in tonight’s 6:10 p.m. game at Miller Park. Kayvius Sampson pitches for the Reds.
