Waupaca, WI (WTAQ) – A registered sex offender who allegedly cut off his monitoring bracelet and disappeared for a year was sentenced.
Philip Rath Jr. is ordered to one year in jail, in addition to any other sentence being served.
Officials say Rath disappeared in April of 2014, after he cut off his monitoring bracelet while staying at his mother’s house in Waupaca County.
Rath was captured in Minnesota earlier this year.
He was convicted of sexually assaulting a child in 1993.
Rath is also ordered to pay all costs and fees.
