REDGRANITE, Wis. (WSAU) — Another person has drowned at a popular swimming area in Waushara County.
Sheriff Jeffrey Nett issued a statement confirming a male swimmer died Wednesday at the Redgranite Quarry. Redgranite Quarry became a lake that is only about six acres in size, but has depths reaching 163 feet.
Nett says the man was pronounced dead at the scene, and that Redgranite police are conducting the investigation. Redgranite Police Chief Kyle Tarr may release the man’s identity and other information sometime Thursday after family members have been notified.
There have been other drowning incidents at this lake, including one earlier this summer. 18-year-old Alaya Hua Chee drowned while swimming there June 19th.
