GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – The illegal immigrant accused of stabbing his ex-girlfriend in downtown Green Bay will stand trial.
Victor Paz-Castellanos waived his preliminary hearing Tuesday and will enter a plea to a charge of attempted first-degree intentional homicide on August 24.
Authorities say Paz-Castellanos stabbed his ex-girlfriend following an argument right after the fireworks show wrapped up on the night of July 4.
Paz-Castellanos is a citizen of Honduras and is in the United States illeaglly. He was deported once, but returned. Federal immigration officials plan to deport him again after these proceedings conclude.
