(WNFL) – The Milwaukee Brewers are back to having baseball’s third-worst record, thanks to their current five-game losing streak. The Crew also has the Majors’ worst home mark, as it opens a four-game series tonight at Miller Park against San Diego. The Brewers are 44-62 after sending five key players away before the trade deadline. Tonight, they face a Padres’ club that has won seven-of-nine, and is six-and-a-half games back for an N-L Wild Card spot. Right-hander Tyson Ross, who was rumored to be traded last week, will start against Milwaukee. He’s 7-8 with a 3.38 ERA. Brewers’ right-hander Wily Peralta will try to go 2-0 since being out for two months with a strained oblique muscle. He’s 2-5 with a 3.90 ERA. Only Miami and Philadelphia have worse records than the Brewers. The Phillies are the only team with a sub.-400 winning percentage.
