UNDATED (WSAU-Wheeler News) Governor Scott Walker will be a featured speaker today at a conservative conference in San Diego. The Republican Walker will talk about his presidential ambitions at a meeting of the American Legislative Exchange Council, or ALEC. It provides model legislation for conservative state lawmakers around the country.
Wisconsin Democrats have long slammed state G-O-P leaders for relying on ALEC and its pro-business ideas. That includes the right-to-work law that Wisconsin approved in February, just two weeks after the measure was first introduced.
Walker and fellow G-O-P White House candidate Mike Huckabee will speak to the ALEC convention today. Candidate Ted Cruz canceled his appearance for tomorrow, citing the need to be in Washington to cast votes in the U-S Senate.
