WAUTOMA, WI (WTAQ) – A man has been convicted of causing a fatal hit-and-run crash earlier this year.
Eric Banaszak was driving when he hit and killed bicyclist James Shafer of Redgranite on February 15.
Authorities say he slammed on the brakes, but Banaszak knew he hit someone. Banaszak turned himself in to the cops about 15 hours after the crash.
Online court records indicate he’ll be sentenced October 2.
