APPLETON, WI (WTAQ) – The Appleton Health Department says a man diagnosed with tuberculosis is being treated in isolation.
Health officials say they are investigating who might have had contact with the infected person over the last few months. That would show who might have been exposed.
The sick person received treatment at Affinity Health System and works at Winnebago Mental Health Institute. Workers at those two businesses will be screened, if necessary.
Tuberculosis can be fatal, if not treated properly. It can be spread through the air. You can learn more about the disease here.
