MENASHA, WI (WTAQ) – The driver of a van which struck a bicyclist in Menasha Monday morning had fallen asleep at the wheel.
That’s what investigators with Menasha police say happened while a 57-year-old Menasha resident drove home from working all night around 8:45 a.m.
Police say the van was westbound in the 700 block of Valley Road, when it crossed the center line and hit the bicyclist on the other side of the road.
Authorities say the driver has submitted to a blood test and is cooperating with the investigation.
The victim, a 29-year-old Menasha man, remains in critical condition at a local hospital.
