OSHKOSH, WI (WTAQ) – A memorial service will be held Sunday in Oshkosh for the CEO of a light plane manufacturer who died when one of his products crashed.
Visitations for 40-year-old Jeremy Monnett will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday at the EAA AirVenture Museum’s Eagle Hangar. A memorial service and reception will begin at 2 p.m. in the EAA Founders’ wing.
A private service will take place Sunday morning, and the family has asked others not to arrive until after 10 a.m.
Monnett was the chief executive of Sonex Aircraft. He and 20-year-old assembly mechanic Mike Clark were killed on Tuesday.
Their single-engine Sonex Sport Acro was apparently trying to land on a runway at the Oshkosh airport, when it crashed into trucks at a nearby Oshkosh Corporation plant.
Sonex says it will announce information soon about a memorial fund for Monnett.
Two federal agencies are investigating the cause of the plane crash.
