GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – A Sturgeon Bay business owner has been sentenced to seven-and-a-half years in federal prison for receiving child pornography.
Steven P. Link was also given 15 years of supervised release and must register as a sex offender.
The 37-year-old Link was arrested at his bookstore last September. Investigators performed a search of Link’s home and uncovered thousands of images and videos of child pornography on computers and media storage devices. Many files showed children thought to be 5 to 16-years-old engaging in explicit sexual activity.
According to the criminal complaint, Link told police he also secretly videotaped people in the restroom at work with a camera disguised as a smoke detector. Court documents reveal that authorities found videos of girls and adult women in various stages of undress in the bathroom.
Another man arrested with Link, Kory Murphy, was previously convicted and sentenced to two-and-a-half years in prison.
