CHICAGO, ILL (WSAU) — The Public Service Commission of Wisconsin has given formal written approval to the acquisition of Integrys Energy Group, Inc. by Wisconsin Energy Corporation. The two companies announced the proposed acquisition in June of 2014. Integrys is the parent company of Wisconsin Public Service.
Integrys released a statement Thursday saying all required federal approvals have been received, and shareholders for both companies approved the transaction in November 2014. They say with the approval by the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin Thursday and the Michigan Public Service Commission last month, only Illinois and Minnesota state approvals remain outstanding.
Integrys Energy Group Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Charles Schrock says “This is another positive and important step in completing the transaction with Wisconsin Energy.”
If all regulatory approvals are received, close of the transaction is anticipated by the end of the summer.
