For the first time in three years, the Horizon League will be a ten team conference again. The Horizon announced Monday it will add Northern Kentucky University as a member beginning this summer. The NKU Norse was affiated with the Atlantic Sun Conference since gaining Division I status three years ago. They will replace Loyola of Chicago which moved to the Missouri Valley Conference. The Athletic Director at Northern Kentucky is Ken Bothof who held the same position at Green Bay for a decade, leaving in 2013. Northern Kentucky will compete in 17 of the 19 sports offered by the Horizon with the exception of mens and womens swimming and diving.
