PORTAGE, WI (WTAQ) – This is the second day of a trial in which a former nurse is accused of trying to kill her boyfriend’s wife in southern Wisconsin.
45-year-old Stephanie McMillen of Chippewa Falls is charged in Columbia County with attempted homicide, stalking, and obstructing police.
Her lover’s wife, Kimberly Tennier, testified that McMillen came to her house in 2012 wearing disguises and asking for help in finding a lost cat. Authorities said McMillan tried luring Tennier to a pond behind the victim’s house. But Tennier got suspicious, locked herself in her house, and called her husband.
Prosecutors said McMillen may have intended to kill Tennier with morphine stolen from her workplace. The defense claims that McMillen never tried to attempt murder.
