The Bears went offense in the third round and beefed up their offensive line with the addition of Oregon center Hroniss Grasu. He’ll join former Oregon Duck, Kyle Long on the offensive line.
The Detroit Lions traded up to add to their secondary with Stanford cornerback. It’s the first player the Lions have drafted on the defensive side of the ball. With Suh and Fairley leaving on the defensive line bolstering the secondary will be big for the Lions if the pass rush slips.
With the 88th pick, the Minnesota Vikings went defense for the third straight pick by selecting LSU defensive end Danielle Hunter. He’s got great size at 6’5 ½ but only had 1.5 sacks in his junior season.
With the Packers last pick on Friday night they went with wide receiver Ty Montgomery from Stanford. He’s a thick wide receiver at 6 feet, 221 pounds. Montgomery has a lot of experience as a returner and would be an immediate upgrade over the departed DuJuan Harris.
