BEAVER DAM, WI (WTAQ) – Just when you think you’ve seen it all, something new hops along.
Beaver Dam police officer Rich Dahl found that out, when somebody called police to complain about a kangaroo that a woman brought to a McDonald’s as a service animal.
That happened last Friday. Dahl said the baby kangaroo was wrapped in a blanket, and was sitting in an infant car seat.
According to the AP, the woman told Dahl she needed the animal to handle emotional distress — and she produced a letter from a doctor to that effect.
The officer said the woman agreed to leave, although she was upset about it at first.
Dahl said he’s not sure if a kangaroo would legally qualify as a service animal to help the disabled — but he’s glad he didn’t have to find out.
