APPLETON, WI (WTAQ) – A woman will spend five-and-a-half years in prison for her role in the murder of Lara Plamann of Greenville back in 2007.
40-year-old Rosie Campbell was convicted of criminal damage to property and theft, after accepting a plea deal which dropped a homicide charge. Campbell was also put on extended supervision for two years.
The Minnesota woman agreed to testify against two other defendants in the case, Dianna and Kandi Siveny.
As the judge announced the sentence Thursday, Campbell collapsed in her chair. She returned a few minutes later in a wheelchair, with her attorney saying she had suffered a seizure.
55-year-old Dianna Siveny and her 35-year-old daughter Kandi are both charged with first-degree intentional homicide. Investigators say that Dianna and Plamann were partners. Siveny allegedly offered Campbell $5,000 to kill the 30-year-old Plamann because prosecutors say that Siveny believed Plamann was cheating on her.
After Campbell backed out of the deal, police say Kandi allegedly shot Plamann at her home in Greenville.
Police say in 2003, Campbell confessed and said she witnessed the murder. However, Campbell refused to testify last August, even with an immunity offer on the table.
Last year, a judge ordered both Sivenys released on bond, saying the state violated their right to a speedy trial. They had been in jail since their February 2013 arrests.
Kandi Siveny is set to stand trial next month; her mother’s trial begins in June.
