WAUKESHA, WI (WTAQ) – A Waukesha County sheriff’s deputy is on desk duty, after he was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving.
37-year-old Paul Eckert was off duty when he crashed his personal vehicle on Monday night in the town of Genesee.
WISN-TV said he was driving home after he attended the swearing-in of his new boss, Sheriff Eric Severson, and a party for the occasion afterward.
The Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the incident internally. Eckert has been on the force for over a dozen years.
