MADISON, WI (MetroSource-WSAU) The chancellor of UW Colleges and UW Extension is moving on to a position as chancellor of the University of Alaska Anchorage. Cathy Sandeen’s new title was announced Wednesday as the UW System prepares for the merger of its two-year colleges and four-year universities.
She issued a statement saying: “I am enormously grateful for the opportunity to lead these unique statewide institutions, working with an incredible group of dedicated individuals, as well as getting to know the many interesting, intriguing, and important communities, large and small, throughout the state of Wisconsin.”
Sandeen will stay on until her new appointment begins September 19th.
Before coming to Wisconsin Sandeen had been a top administrator at UC-Santa Cruz and UCAL and worked for the American Council on Education. She’d worked for the UW system for the past four years.
