CHIPPEWA FALLS, WI (WSAU) Authorities say two students have been identified in connection with threats written in bathrooms at Chippewa Falls High School.
The original message was found yesterday morning on a girls bathroom stall. A short time later, a threat was written on the boys bathroom stall and two threats were written on paper and left in both bathrooms.
Students were placed on hold and kept in classrooms while the entire building was searched by staff and the police department. One of the threats said there were bombs and explosives outside if the school was evacuated. No bombs or weapons were found.
Two suspects, a male and female, both 16-year-olds, have been identified and are at home with their legal guardians.
A statement from school superintendent Heidi Eliopoulos said: “We are fortunate to have a strong relationship with our law enforcement, who responded swiftly and with all available resources to support us in this situation… Thank you to you all for keeping the staff, students, parents, law enforcement, and community in your thoughts during this extremely difficult and unnerving day.”
School is back on a normal scheduled Tuesday.
