MILWAUKEE (MetroSource-WSAU) – The new Bucks arena is one step closer to being built. A Milwaukee Common Council committee approved design plans for the arena, parking structure and training facility.
The full council is expected to vote on the proposal next week.
The arena design includes a distinctive brown-rust colored roof that curves down towards the main entrances. Many of the interior concourses will have large windows with panoramic views to the exterior and will bring in large amounts of natural light.
The team hopes to begin construction in June. The Bucks hope to begin playing there in 2018. The arena will also have an ice rink, even though Milwaukee does not have an NHL team and the Milwaukee Admirals won’t be playing there. The new arena will host exhibition games and ice shows.
